mechanical oil pressure gauge

my gauge has been acting wonky. sometime dropping below L and then other times reading in the middle. Seems responsive to throttle though.

id like to put in a mechanical guage but was wondering where the best port is to use? ive read that the one on the filter housing isnt the best because its regulated.

also ive notice my engine oil isnt black. i did a oil change a few weeks ago but doesnt diesel motor oil normally turn black pretty quick?

The best pace is where the stock sensor is just get a tee to thread into the block if you want both gauges.

It turns black from blowby, i.e. exhaust gasses getting past the rings when the engine is cold, because the rings haven't expanded enough to seal properly. If your oil isn't turning black 'quickly', (a relative term) you should be dancing for joy, not worried about it!!

If the fuel pump is still set stock your oil will stay clean for a while, and your centrifuge is helping too.

Ahh, AND a centrifuge! I didn't read your sig. As Faith said, another reason your oil is cleaner. Nice! I'm jealous, I really want to drop one in my truck, just have to figure out how to do it. One of these days...

Happy I am. Haha that's some good news.
Oh and just to clarify my centrifuge setup is just for cleaning/drying my veggie oil.
