Max tire size on stock rim

Guys and Gals, I have a 93 W250 with stock steel rims with trim rings and centre caps. I would like to keep said rims as I like the look of them on the truck, but, I would like to have larger tires. Did some searching and didn't really find a clear answer. Thanks.

I think those are 16x6" rims, it should have a narrow tire to keep from bulging.

A 255/85r16 should fit the wheel, but may not clear the front fenders without a lift or trimming.

I think the biggest you could go would be a 305 or 315 85 16's .Thats on a 16x6 rim

I've never seen a 305 or 315 in an 85 aspect ratio, who makes them?
Do they look like wagon wheels?

315/75 and 315/85 are 2 totally different tires, if they even make a 315/85

no lift or trimming required. not many options though in that size.

Maybe they were 75's....I was looking more at the 305-315 aspect of it. I have to get 2 new ones for the back here in a few weeks....I'll check and see if they make an 85 in a 315.

315/75 is almost a 35" tire, think a 315/75 comes out to 34.6 ?

hey-Hey!!!,
I am going to get 16x7 Ford steels for my 1990. They're the same style, but an inch wider. Ran 16x6 Ford steels with no issues( though I'd rather have the bigger studs ). Seems about $40 each is the going rate for good used ones...and I will see them spin true before putting down the Green.
cheers,
Douglas

I got 285/75R16 on my truck and love them. They look a lot better too with the stock rims. Stock height and no rubbing.
