Max tire size for stock 250
I have a stock 93 250 4X4. It needs new back tires but I decided to replace all four and go up in size. Right now it has 235/85/16. I think I'll keep the stock rims on it to save money, but I'm just curious what sizes everyone is running without rubbing.

Moores tire near me said with my stock rims, I could go as big as 275/75/16. Installed, it would cost me $450 for the cheapest. I would NOT go with Wally World. I got some Goodyear Trackers size 235/85/16 on clearance AND used my Wally World discount on service (I work there ) and it cost me almost $500! Needless to say I go over to Moores tire and they said the same package would have only cost about $430! Shop around. I thought I got a good deal because they were clearance tires and 10% off service and still got screwed.
Off my vent.
Theres more to the story but I wont dive into details.

Yeah, I worked at walmart for a few years and bought tires there once thinking it would be cheaper because of the discount and found out other wise. Sam's isnt much better, saved ten dollars a tire for the 04 but its not worth it because of the headache that they cause. They can't do this or will not do that. My bother in law is friends with a guy that works at a used tire warehouse. We are going to run up there today and see what they have for the W250. 32.2 X 10.8 would give it a nice stance

I wouldn't go more than 245s on the stock rims. The PO put 285s on mine before I bought it. They look good, but don't handle very well because that tread width is just too wide for the six inch rims.

245s are extremely small. they are what come on new chevys-about 30.5-31. Id recommend atleast 265/75/16, which are about 32x12, or 285/75/16s, which are 33x12.50s. We actually were able to fit 35s on my dads back in the day, so you could go that tall as long as you dont go too wide./

I have 265/75/16's on my 93 W250 on aftermarket 7" wide wheels they are a good size tire i'am thinking about going to 285's the next time around. A friend has 285's on his stock 91 after market 8" wheels, they rub alittle when making a hard turn up front but not bad he says. I have run 235/75/16's on both my 93 and 99 they are good tires but they seem to steer heavier then with the wider 265's, (the Steering fells heaver)

I have 285/75's and they are a bit big but work well they are on stock rims and yes they dont handle the best, i also have more of a mud terrain tire. they have rubbed when i hit HUGE bumps, because the front end is starting to settle. any good aftermarket springs out there for that, that you guys know of?

I got 285/75R16's on 7" wide wheels and the tread is perfectly flat (checked it with a straight edge). The guys at the tire store (Discount Tire) told me that I needed a minimum of an 8" wide wheel to run those tires but I guess that I proved them wrong. I think that they just wanted me to spend some more money, you know, more than the thousands I already left there (**** tires are expensive ).

i'm running 285/75 on the stock rim and keep them aired down to keep from wearing the center of the tire out... i run about 35-38psi and that have worn GREAT! The truck handles well IMO and since i am practically riding the bump stops in the front, the soft sidewall makes for a slightly smoother ride, lol.
