Anything over 40 psi makes me nervous regardless of intercooling.

If you have the original nonIC head gasket, I'd stay under 30psi and 1.5mm timing for longterm reliability. They started using marine grade gaskets with the intercooled engines. I agree for the intercooled/ later style gaskets- over 40 has me questioning my NEED for this kind of pressure.

I've repeatedly pegged my 40psi gauge, but with my recent mods to the 12cm housing, the wastegate will hold what little fuel I've got to a comfortable 32psi--and I've pulled my timing back close to stock.

Sooo your mega intercooler has over comp so your timing don't have to any more.

I've had mine tuned up towards 38 psi without problems. I am running a Fel-Pro headgasket in mine. I am not sure if that is any better than stock or not.

From pictures I've seen, it (Felpro) isnt as good, but if it works, run it. Most parts store aftermarket stuff is a step down from OEM; most aftermarket from the likes of PDR, II, et al, is much better than OEM.
