Matching injectors to pump and turbo

4WIW, I ran DAP 7x.010 injectors with a big turbo. Once tuned it was a very good towing set up.
What kind of fuel pin do you have?

You could run 900*F ALL day, as long as we are talking about a PRE turbo probe.
The probe in the down pipe will read lower #s.
I hit 1400*F and 30+ PSI on stock injectors any time I stand on it on some of my 12Vs which are tuned for fun. The others trucks I tow with are tuned for towing and less EGTs.

I usually just take off the boots and clamps one at a time, inspect and re-install them.
Then go for a ride and see if it holds/makes more boost.
I have seen an intercooler with holes in it whistle and push a little air out the holes at idle before.
Usually there is very little / no boost at idle with no load on the motor.

900* and 15 psi sound right for an un-tuned pump and stock injectors.
Check your line from the head to the AFC on top of the pump. Those like to break. I'd bet that is your problem.

Sounds like a pump that has been tuned already, or he paid of a tuned pump that is just a painted stocker…
I get 18PSI and 1000* on my '95 12V that is dead stock.
That little line does like to break, look for the updated plastic line from Cummins.

His first post lists a BD 230 HP pump.

I don't know BD well, as I have just seen the adds, never used their stuff.
It shouldn't cost much to twist a fuel screw though.

Matching turbo to injectors
I just recovered my invoice from the 'performance' shop that sold it to me. $1695 Cdn. Part #1051205. The 40HP 'Performance' Injectors were $650Cdn #1040175. (2010 dollars)
I have checked boots, the line to the turbo and no sign of leaks or breakage. So I have ordered 5x12's from Hungry Diesel and watched a couple of YouTube videos on tuning my pump. Painful spending Canadian dollars in the states right now. We're getting $.75
I was asked what fuel pin I had. I don't know, just what came with the pump. I'll open it up when I get the new injectors.
Thanks for all the advice. I'll post again when all is installed.

Sounds like your on the right path.
Read some threads on pump tuning.
Watch a few videos on it, the when you have the basics of pump tuning and you will be good to go.
Tune the pump, then go drive it, and adjust again, drive, repeat - until the truck runs like you want it, while staying cool enough to tow with the truck.
