Good leather gloves help too. I didn't give it any thought I drove mine 4 miles before tearing into it. It was warm but not too bad.

So it is better for both the manifold and the bolts to be hot when performing this chore? I confess I am surprised.

Also, if I decide to go with studs and nuts (as did Bearkiller above) rather than new bolts from Cummins, can anyone tell me where to source long brass nuts (M10-1.5) so that rust isn't an issue in the future?
