Made an engine stand.

Well we ended up having to rebuild the puller motor. Just getting ready for re-assembly, will post pics when the time comes. For now, here is a heavy duty engine stand I built for it. Got tired of the using my old cheap stand, plus it didn't really like a fully assembled 5.9. I know the pics suck, but I'm having camera issues. It rotates on a 14 bolt wheel hub, turned by a slack adjuster off from a semi. I have seen this idea around a few places and have been waiting to get one put together. Use a 9/16" wrench to turn it where ever you want and it stays. I need to get wheels on it, but for now we can build the motor.

Edit,

I can't read, looks like in the video its does not take much effort to turn, is that correct?

Yeah, it turns pretty easy, but it's just the block and crank on there now. A 3/8 cordless drill spins it just fine, just a little too fast.

You can get a new slack adjuster for like $20. The one I got is about a 22:1 ratio, the parts guy said there is only one ratio. I would go slower if I could.

Do you have bearings in that tube, or is the s cam just welded to an inner tube.

The outer tube is a wheel hub from a GM 14 bolt rearend. The inner tube is the spindle from the 14b, I used the wheel bearings and all. Slide the s-cam inside the spindle and weld.

Got around to getting some more pics.

The mounting plate, hooks where the motor mount would:

It ended up being pretty hard to turn when the engine was all put together. I am thinking my cheapy slack adjuster may be the culprit.

Your pump looks messed up.

How do you adjust the smoke screw?
