bought an lsd out of a drw with the 35 spline axles...on advice from several of you here i priced clutch packs and also since my truck is a 32 spline axle..side gears as well....for the kit which is clutch packs and spiders side gears and pins its $900.00...he said wholesale is $820 or something like that...whats the deal..surely you guys arent paying that much for oem stuff are you or do i just have a parts guy not looking well enough?...clutch packs alone are $200.00 and he thinks i need 2 of them per diff...need some advice on diff vendors or something this is not worth what i could do a d80 swap for or an aftermarket diff for..thanks for all the advice you give...

 

You should be able to get an " internal parts kit" for about $200 from a Dana-Spicer dealer or from a Yukon dealer. A clutch kit should be less than $75. I have gotten several similar kits from different sources on Ebay.

 

$375 for a complete Yukon kit from Randys Ring and Pinion.

 

There is one clutch pack per kit- be sure to read the instructions, as they have a certain order they install into the carrier.

With steel and shipping prices the way they have been, I'd say $400 should be a good budget to figure. Heck, for $900, I'll buy the parts and install them for you.
