I built my own 4" pipe around the transfer case from 4 45 degree mandrel bends I bought from ryderfleetproducts.com -
http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/cg...uct_detail.jsp
I had to trim one of two of them, then pieced them together and welded it all up. It fits great and clears both the transfer case and frame by at least 3/4" to 1". Even if the pipe was right up against the transfer case, it doesn't get so hot that it could heat up that huge chunk of iron enough to cause any damage. Your exhaust guy is probably used to working on little trucks with aluminum transfer cases, or he's a complete idiot! LOL

Sounds like i guy from work, he used to work at a monroe or meinekee... how ever you spell them. Anyways you tell him something you just did or a friend just did and he flipps out telling you how thats impossible, or just stupid because bla bla bla bla bla.... it gets annoying. Just SHUT UP and LISTEN DUMP EDIT !!! When you insult someones intelligence they get mean. Esp when they tell you no you can't first, and you do it anyways and prove them wrong :-D

The guy who owns the local exhaust shop, has a full 2 1/4" crimped bend exhaust on his 55 Chevy' with a 383 stroker small block, 400+ hp "he says". says he likes the "bottom end" he gets from the small exhaust...and it goes back into cheap seamed together turbo mufflers
When he revs it up you can hear the poor 383 just crying for help.
