Look what me and stillsmokin built (Pullin Hitch)

Jeff designed it and I welded 95% of it. I figured that I have 16 hours into it just welding

Should be testing it tomorow in Johnson NE

This took a while to weld up, I used a Lincoln 225 AC buzzbox, Did a 6011 root and then a 7018 cover passes

15 passes on each side to weld the 2" bar stock to the hitch channel, this took 6 hours from start to finish to weld it up with the occasional smoke break.

15 passes per side. I think I'd pull my hair out.

Those inside fillets on the gussets look nice, I always have trouble on those inside welds, especially down in a space like that.

What I really want to know, though, is what rear axle you have under that thing?

I'm picturing that hitch attached to the sled with the frame from the back of the front spring hangers back and the rest of the truck motoring down the track in front wheel drive That is one serious hitch, all joking aside

Thanks for the compliments guys

Greg, I think wer gonna leave it raw so it will end up matching the frame and the rear axle. Jeff only wanted to build 1 hitch that will hold anything cause were not sure how far we will take this truck.

Wanna,I really hope so, I know I'll look like a shmuck if it comes apart, but i did garantee Jeff it would hold. I told him if it broke I'd weld it up again.

The adjustable pin Idea has been around for a while, Most of the 2.6 and up trucks around here run a similar setup but none are as beefy as this one.

I like how much contact it has with the truck frame, cuz it is now the weakest part. lol Nice welding. Imagine what you could do with a MIG welder...

schamran, I actually welded all of the "Reese" with a mig, the reciever was all welded with stick.

W150, you can never have too much adjustment.

Just got home fome the pull and the Hitch didn't break, Jeff did extremly well too, Ended up 3rd in the 2.6 class and 5th in 2.8, these were both very competitive classes also. I'll have video up in a bit if not tomorow.
