Locking Hubs
I really like locking hubs, but I keep foretting to unlock them until I am putting her into 4 low to get to my house every night, and them I'm glad I don't have to get out and lock them! Yesterday I drove all the way up to Los Alamos and then back through Santa Fe with the darn things locked the whole time. Probably isn't helping my mileage. Maybe I need to put in a buzzer or something to remind me to unlock them!

I leave mine locked from about the end of Oct. until sometime in May or April. Won't hurt the hubs at all as long as they are in good shape. I've even run to Anchorage and back (750+ miles) with them locked and not in 4wd. I just shift back in to 2wd if I don't need the 4wd or in tight parking lots. Milage might suffer a little but in the cold, mine idles a lot to help stay warm so my milage already stinks.

The roads in my area flat out suck in the winter time. So I leave mine locked all winter, so that whenever the roads get slick, I pull her down in 4hi. never had a problem. I dont see how it would really damage much of anything to leave them locked in.

Update
Had to go back up to Los Alamos (hope I don't glow now) and Santa Fe again yesterday. THis time I unlocked, but I didn't notice any difference in the mileage, so I might as well leave them locked!
