Ordered a piston lift pump, part number 3936320. So this is all I need, no regulator or anything, I'm gonna go ahead and replace the stock lines and pickup lines from the tank with 3/8 line

You also need the spacer and fuel line. You can use fittings and hose in place of the hard line if you want.

Yea I went to pick up my lift pump today and realized that I need the spacerand two gaskets so I ordered it while I was there. I got the correct pump, right? No regulator needed?
What's the reasoning in the spacer?

I doubt I'll ever be able to pull enough fuel to even see the pressure drop any.

Like Wanna said, do it right and the fuel pressure gauge is boring. Which is a good thing.
What kind of filter are you using, and where did ya mount it??

I was looking at that Carter pump. Walbro also makes a marine pump, FRB something or other IIRC, that puts out 10psi. I used an Edelbrock 1792. Pricey, but 15psi.

There was a couple threads in the 3rd gen section the other day about a guy who dead-headed a Walbro 392 into his fuel supply line and couldn't figure out why it kept blowing the top off his fuel filter.

You mean the plastic lid won't hold 110 psi?

The piston pump for the VE motor will work fine for most applications. No regulator needed. How much you modify will dictate whether you need to do more.

If it's a piston pump off of a 2nd gen it will need a regulator. Do you know of a place that sells the low pressure piston pumps?

Someone told me they tried to get one from Cummins, and they wouldn't be able to get any in until at least a couple months. Seems strange.
