Lift Pump and fuel line questions

Okay, I did search, but didn't find an answer to my questions.......

When I prime the system using the little lever on the lift pump, it only moves the fuel when it is at the bottom of the pumping. That is the point that the fuel moves, and it has some resistance to it. Is this normal??

I have looked at the fuel lines, and do not see any fuel dripping, nor is there any fuel on the floor. Would the fuel leak if I have an air leak in the lines?

Thanks guys!

The primer-lever on the diaphragm pumps are not usually very firm, especially after a hundred or so thousand miles.

The orientation of the pump-lobe also has some bearing on just how well it pumps.

A piston-lift-pump is a horse of a different color and has a very healthy primer-pump.

Many times, an air-leak will not leak fuel until pressure is put in the system.

3- to 5-PSI is plenty of pressure for finding leaks; get carried away with the air-compressor and you could burst the tank, or worse.
