Bill Mopar nut recommended a shop for me to call.
They sell the kit for $18.00 if I want to purchase it.
If I want them to do the whole job... pull the pump, rebuild it, put it back and get it running good, $1450
Sounds better than just changing out a seal or two and putting it back on.
Only negative side, is that's it about an hour and 20 minutes south of me.

I just got a rebuilt one put on my truck about 3 months ago.... Ordered it for $600 from a place in Florida. I have used them before for another rig and the pump was still going strong with no leaks 3 yrs later with heavy use before I sold it to get a 4 wheel drive 1st gen cummins of course. Shop charged me $500 to put in on for a total of $1100

I don't know about the pump, but this is the same outfit that I bought my ac kit from and can say that they are great to deal with. Very quick to send out warranty parts at their expense and did not require the return of bad parts. Very easy to deal with...Mark

Picking up the brick today.
The shop has had it all week. Granted, I'm paying someone else to do the work, these guys were doted on as being a top notch outfit, and having done this job hundreds of times previously. I guess I'll know more once I get it back this afternoon.
Although I have another ride (my yota pickup) to cruise around it all week, it's amazing how much I miss the sound of that engine running.
Really weird, eh ?

No...it`s not wierd, lol. I`m halfway thru a move from Long Island to Texas...drove my heap down there about a month ago with a good amount of my personal junk (the old girl didnt skip a beat!...except for the brake booster going out )...and darn do I miss the sound, rattle and power! Flying back tomorrow to give her a huge hug and go for a drive...to anywhere!
Can't wait to buy a gun, huh ?
Shoot me some wild pigs while you're down there...
(the squeaking kind, not the ticket writing kind)
Uuuuuummmmmmm.... BACON..... Mmmmmmm....

My pump has started leaking, and I'll have to rebuild it eventually.
I've got 375,000 miles on the original pump so I'd say it's due.
For the prices being quoted for a rebuild why not get a performance pump from Industrial?

Glad your getting things sorted out on your pump. You'll have peace of mind once you get it back.

I got the truck back, and it died on the way home. I was able to pull it into my driveway, and in the dark I found way too many things done wrong. Loose parts, parts missing, potential transmission damage caused by missing return springs, and a half a$$@# presentation of what was supposed to be a finished job.....
I'm not going to elaborate until I hear back from the owner who I sent emails to, and left messages for. If I don't get back a response that's appropriate for the BS work I was provided, then I'm going to lay it all on the line here for all to read about. I'll give them the opportunity to make this right, but if they don't then all bets are off.
