leaf springs
I have a few questions about my front leaf springs.
Like all dodges, my front leaf springs are startin to sag.
Also, i would like to level out my front with the back.
Is it better to buy new ones...or reform the existing ones and get an add a leaf?
Also is this somethin I could do on my own, or should i leave it to the professionals?
Thanks guys

I would say buy new ones, you're looking at about $1,000 for a complete set. The old ones weaken and lose consistency. For me, my front ones were rusted really bad and I would never get them back. As far as getting them re-arched, there are some spring shops that will re-heat the leafs and then replace the primary, usually end up spending about $600 for all four when doing this.

NO !!!!!
This is why you need to review older threads. You're getting screwed ....
Both Paul and I bought them.... and they were both toast in less than 4-6 months.
If you can cancel them... great. If not, you now are stuck with a pair of new JUNK springs.
I took mine out and took them to a local spring shop where they dumped the main spring, created a new thicker main, and rearched them.
Look up my posting history and you'll find it....

3rd time removal (after failure, and wrong length units, etc) I could take mine out in 40 minutes or less. Took about 1 1/4 hours to get them back in, torqued to spec. and back on the ground.
The local shop wanted about $300 plus the springs to do the job..... Your mileage / costs might vary.
Personally, I like doing my own work, so that I can confirm torque specs. Some repair shops just wing it with their impact guns, and never torque a single bolt.
Something you should discuss with the local shop....
