KSB Removal

Hey fellas. I plan on installing the M&H Timing Spacer maybe today but tomorrow for sure. I'm hoping I can pull KSB without removing the regulator and line leading to it. Does the small fitting in KSB come loose easily or would I chance breaking it trying to loosen it? I'm thinking as for holding the spring and shims in place, I could use a magnet on the outside of the KSB to hold them while slipping the spacer in place. Now, that would only be if I can remove the regulator line easily from the KSB. Does it sound like my thoughts will work for the install? Also, for those who have installed this spacer already, how did you install yours? Thanks!

I just took out the (2) size 30 torques bit screws and pulled it back enough to get in there and trying not to bend the line much at all. it was quite easy IMO but it was one of the only things i had good luck with lately. lol

hmmm I wonder if I could stick a magnet to the advance spring to hold the shims to it and quickly slip the spacer in place and bolt it back together?

haha ok. obviously the only thing i'm wondering about is how well the shims will stay in place while trying to get the spacer in there.

i had good luck with them. i stuck them in there and they stayed in place. i bet you could put a dab of something on them so they will stick if you wanted to.

You're lucky... I tried to do it last night... My ksb screws are in so tight they stripped the torx screws trying to loosen them... Gotta pull my pump to install mine... Good times.

I wouldn't worry, if the screws dont come out, its not like your truck is down...

well i'm kinda wishing i had an i/c style vacuum pump right about now. if it weren't for the powersteering reservoir being in my way, the back screw on the KSB would have been more accessible . i think i'll have to unbolt the vacuum/powersteering pump and try to hang it out of the way somewhere while i quickly throw the spacer in. i'm certainly not pulling the pump to install the spacer.
