You should be able to get the switch from Cummins, and cheaper than Dodge. Just get all the numbers off the engine data plate and they'll hook you up.

Thanks cat trains, I'll try that # today with the dealer and also check with the Cummins dealer. Hopefully someone stocks it. It's F'n cold here, and the old goat dosen't like sitting all day at work without being plugged in.

"KSB is a German abbreviation for something"
Kaltstartbeschleuniger
Cold Start Aid
I believe that they all work by using an electric heater to warm a wax pellet that expands and increases the fuel pressure to the timing advance mechanism in the bottom of the pump.
Glad you got it working!

See, I knew it meant something! Where did you track that bit of info down?
According to my Cummins B series manual, there are wax pellet KSB's and solenoid KSB's. Solenoid KSB was introduced in '91. If you have a resistor between the switch and the KSB, you have a solenoid. I believe this was an emissions motivated change, the wax motor type can take as long as 1 minute to move at room temperature, and even longer when cold. So even with a perfectly functioning wax KSB you could get a minute or two of white smoke, where the electric one should clear right up.
