Talking Just spent a few $$$k, but need help spending more....Aurora 4000???

Just finished ordering the Scheid built VE, HG, studs, a few other odd little parts. Hope they come in by friday so I can spend the weekend getting her back up and running. When I went to order the Aurora 4000 turbo though, all I can find is one for the 03-07CR cummins. Is this the same one I need? I want to get it ordered ASAP so it all comes together at the same time.

Also depending on how she runs with the new pump and turbo, it MAY make enough power, or may need a new set of injectors. Whats the highest HP made to date with DDP4's?

You should be able to run the 3rd gen without too much trouble.

What made you decide on the A4K?

The super light and strong titanium compressor, quick spool for the size, ability to run 70+psi boost, and flow enough air for 600+whp. You get what you pay for.

I agree. I'm not a fan of ATS (see: Clint) at all, but I would still run one of their turbos. I actually ran an A8K on the bottom for awhile. It was a fine turbo. They're expensive, but worth it.

I was just curious. You don't see ATS chargers too much in the 1st gen world.

I won't deal with ATS because I haven't had good experience in the time(s) I have dealt with them. I won't speak about their products, only their service. I wasn't impressed.

As for turbos, I'm hoping garrett makes a gtx wheel for the gt3788r some day, and then I wanna run garrett twins and see how it pans out for me. they seem like very first gen friendly turbos because of their quick spooling and the relatively low rpm of the ve... some day... hopefully... it'll happen.

Just spoke to ATS and got everything ordered. Should be here next week.

That puts me over the $5k mark yesterday and today. Is this old truck worth all the money and effort? I say YESSSSS.......hahaha

I should be able to get all the parts in and on the truck and running within the next 2 weeks. Depending on when my back surgery gets set up I may have enough time to get it on the dyno and make some runs for 12's before I'm laid up.

Thanks, CRAP! Did you already hit 12's with your Getrag?

Well from what I gathered it's a 63 mm compressor and it runs about $1800. Ouchies.

Yes its 63mm titanium compressor. The WG version is $2100. Should spool very fast and be nearly unbreakable. Support over 600whp on fuel and much higher on nitrous. Compressor map goes over 70psi before it becomes inefficient. I couldnt find another turbo that even came close to what this single will do.

dont forget ATS's warranty is in that price, they have a dang good warranty and I've been happy with my ATS turbos. You cant hurt them, they are well built and run well. Should be an awesome single
