Just Curious - How much $$ do you have in your truck?
I was wondering how much some of you other members have invested in your truck? Please list if it is 2wd or 4wd.
After purchasing my D250 for about $4500, I have invested another $1900 (repairs, mods, upgrades) for a total (so far) of about $6400.
I'm trying to decide if I should drop another couple grand or sell it and get another truck...

~$700 in auxillary tank, ~$100 for piston pump, ~$400 for gauges, ~$100 for the horn, ~$200 for the stereo, ~$100 for the headlights, and that's about all the aftermarket at the moment...
Repairs add up to #$%^ for brakes, $1000 for (!@#$) paint and body, and probably about $50,000 in miscellaneous stuff that's broken.

with the $4500.00 for the truck, the ex housing, new clutch, rebuild of the t-case, oil cooler, several bottles of tide to get the oil out of the cooling system, anti-freeze,rear brakes, drum spring and adj kit, seal, side bearing in rear diff, a Gear Vender over drive w/new drive shafts, and the tank module......the new tires that are all but gone now!
I would say that i'm into it atleast $10,000
probably more if i really sent down and did the numbers!
and that don't count the 62 grand that the P.O put into the front end and the Getrag rebuild 62,000 miles a go!

5600 for truck. The lumber rack, tool boxes(used) and the parts in the signature cost another 1000 but I feel I could spend about 10,000 more if I spend much time thinking about stuff that could be done to it.

There's a few comments leanin' towards our trucks draining us of our precious funds, me included. I don't even want to go there...you all can figure costs out when checkin' our sigs. My comment here is this: I guarantee, if we were to outright all sell our trucks right now and put the money towards a down payment for an '07 model diesel of choice, I guarantee by day 90 with our new truck we would have modded something towards looks or performance. Before long, another 5,000.00 was added in mods above the 60,000.00 purchase price!! So, don't feel too bad. It's in our blood to mod

I'm not exactly a 1st Gen owner, but I guess for everybody it simply depends on what do you want? Do you have a plan to get there? Can you stop when you're there? I'm doing a Cummins swap on a truck I've been driving for 29 years, a '67 Dodge Town Wagon. 3.9L 4BT [ended up free after selling stepvan donor!], NV4500 5 spd. $800, Bellhousing adapter, bell, flywheel $480, Dana 60HD free, good D-200 front axle with anti-sway free, all new front bearings etc. $125, new Eaton Detroit 1,500 lbs front springs $400, new coil-over rear shocks $85, rebuilt steering box from Firm Feel $290, clutch $400, slave $100, water/meth $400-500, lots of nickel-dime [$20-$100] stuff and about $1,500 to go plus need new tires. Free performance tweaks. Major bodywork repairs, my labor.
When I'm done it will be EXACTLY WHAT I WANT and built according to a plan for $5,500-$6000. Works for me....

3600 for truck. another 350 in maintenance.half of the 350 went to figuring out that truck needed additive in rear diff. then it only took 20 dollars to fix.thanks wannadiesel for info about additive, garage charged 225 for new wheel bearings and all i needed was additive.truck is 92 ext cab le d250,everything works all the way down to the power mirrors.only bad spot on body is some rust on driver side rocker, paint is by po,so are the 800 dollar e range tires.just bought some chrome nerf bars from ins. company salvage[. got em for bid of 47.50 thanks to neighbor working for ins. company.they are sharp. after looking at other trucks similar to mine i have come to conclusion that i got a great deal.btw . i bought truck from ebay, good deals are out there,i reckon it all com es down to timing.only reason i would sell mine is for a4wd
