I've got room for POD's!
Gauges are in (AutoMeter Z-series) and working after a year of putting it off. I can't get the EGT over 1,100 so I have room to play. It only goes that high when the wastegate opens at 27 psi. It probably won't go much over 1,000 once I adjust the TurboMaster to give me a little more boost at the top end. See Alec, I told you playing with the fuel pin is safe.
The only sour note on the install was the AutoMeter pillar pod. That thing sucks! It doesn't fit well at all, and the plastic pegs they give you to hold it in place are nearly useless. I ended up having to replace one with a screw into the A-post to keep the thing from falling off. Oh well, it's an 11 year old truck, who cares - at least the gauges aren't duct taped to the dash.

Thanks for the heads up, Jimmy. I gotta recover from the gauges and the XM receiver first. I'll see how things look at the end of the month, maybe I'll sneak 'em in on the 31st.

I am glad that you finally have your gauges in, Dave! I still haven't put that HX-35 on my truck, but I sure don't have that much room for my EGT's, and from Gary's description of your truck's performance, not to mention the flutter you were getting, I figured your truck was set up hotter than mine! So maybe I will have a pleasant surprise with the new turbo. You are also running more advanced timing, which makes a difference. If you cut back on that gun habit, I am sure that you will be able to afford som POD's
By the way, I would suggest springing for the US gear dash pod for the guages, I really like where it puts everything, and I have my 3 3/8 tach duct - taped to it . Someday I'll steel the sheet-metal off a B-model Mack and clean up the dash a little bit . . .

I think the 4" exhaust and the BHAF have a lot to do with the low temps. I'm sure it was pretty toasty many times before I got it. It must be a tough motor to survive hauling a GN with a ground fuel pin, a 21 cm housing, and a kinked tailpipe. The grinding job the PO did on the fuel pin really makes 'er scoot though!

WD, I mounted my pod close to the bottom. Yes the plastic mounts bite, I just used some shiney screws that matched the screws that hold the rest of the interior panels in. Wish they made one for the opposite side, I'd make my passengers earn their keep!
