Its a miracle! They key works again!
My father in law called me up today to ask me why his key has started working again to kill the truck. The truck has been turned up for the last three years and has required the use of a pull cable to kill the truck as the key would not do it. He always turns the key off then pulls the cable to kill the truck. He said the last few times he has driven the truck when he turns the keys the truck dies without the use of the pull cable. Any ideas what would cause this? Could the fuel screw be backing out (he says it still feels the same power wise when driving)? It is a 1992 Ex-Cab Dually 4x4 with injectors, modified h1 and pump turned up.

Would that cause the key to start working agian? On my 4bt I just removed the plunger completly. Should i have him pull the plunger out and inspect it and I am guessing this rubber could make it into the injector pump and stop it up. Is that right?

Yes, have him pull the solenoid and look at the plunger. I'd love to see what he finds.
Anytime you give up and use a pull cable the solenoid should be gutted so as not to send more rubber through the system.
