ip leak from ksb

Make sure you prime, prime, prime the fuel system!! Glad you got it back together...sucks that you didn't get a complete kit....I'd be pi$$ed!!
The key should be centered...not coming out the front, nor should it be visible. You should have to put a small wire down the keyway to feel it. You can also use some mirrors, and a light to check, but it's tricky.
Not sure about the little fuel pin O-ring. Mine have always been behind a small allen screw.
Hope all goes well tomorrow!

So I got it fired up and runs great except now instead of.leaking from the ksb its dripping outta the shutdown lever. I really don't get it. The oring must not be fully seated or something? The nut on the lever should just be snug eh? No need to reef on it?
I don't really wanna start over and take the pump out again. If I loosen the injector lines to depressurize pump can I replace the shutdown lever oring while on the truck?
Frustrating....

After the shut down lever was installed from the inside, you should have had a shim/washer to go on first, then the O-ring, then another shim, and finally the lever. I usually tighten it down a fair amount...I'd say a good 10ft/lbs?

Are the shims supposed.to be replaced? I just took one shim out then replaced oring the put shim back in.
Also the ksb cover on the engine block side is still blowing bubbles. Same as befor. So gotta take the pump out again I suppose.

I don't think there are any replacement shims/washers for the shut down lever. Just re-use what you have.
And your rear cover is still leaking...That sucks man!! My guess is that the O-ring turned, or flipped a bit when you installed the plate. Did you install the rear plate first...then the front KSB control assembly?
I do it this way so your not fighting the spring tension on the back plate. And then if you have any O-ring issues your at least only dealing with the assembly that is easy to get to.

So I took it out. Replaced ksb orings again and tightened them as much as I felt.comfortable. ( later found in my manual it calls for 32ft pounds)
Changed out the shutdown lever oring and tightened that up.good but unfortunatley the thread is starting to strip
Got.it.back.in the truck.and.fired.up.first.try!
Annnd no.leaks this time. First test drive was good until it stalled while coasting but started right up again. Musta been an air pocket.
Thanx.so much thrashing cows! Yer help has been awesome. Now.let's hope those new orings last
