how do I know if the cooling system is working properly 1991 dodge 350d after driving on the highway my truck acts like its over heated rough idle sluggish reminds me of the gasser truck when it was over heating would run crappy

I notice a similar condition in my truck. When its hot outside the a/c and my fan seem to drag down the engine a bit. When it cools off a bit the idle comes up. The idle only drops 50-75 rpm. Not a whole lot but noticeable. A little more vibration too, no doubt from the compressor running. How do you get your a/c so cold?!?!?!?
This!? I would love to have my a/c work this well! I can't get mine below 42 degrees?
I had your problem once with my truck. Put a rebuilt pump in it and all was better again. Would drop idle to where it would feel like it was was going to die when it was very hot outside and it had been driven for a ways down the highway....
