interior trim paint

What kind of paint have you guys used on the interior trim pieces. I'd like to hear the good and the bad.

Take your vin # to NAPA. They can mix and match their auto paint just like a hardware store does latex paint.
They matched my trim, grey.
Bought a can with a glass jar to apply, you may have other equipment. www.prevalspraygun.com
Get the primer also. Acrylic urethane TS-1.
It's for plastic trim.
Dupli-color makes an adhesion promoter in a spray can. This stuff worked for me as I was doing touch-up. If you are doing the whole trim package then you will need and air gun.

Mopar used to sell small rattle cans of paint for the interior.

The rattle can part numbers for my chariot are:

spice tan paint: 8220 1402 (for the door panels, trim around the windshield, etc.)

dark spice paint: 8220 1454 (for the dashboard, which is darker)

I'm sorry I don't have the part numbers for the gray or red interiors. And unfortunately it's going to be difficult to find a dealer with any of this stuff on his shelf anyway.

Good luck.

Thanks guys. I'm not looking for anything in particular as far as part numbers. I'd just like to se who's had good or bad luck with what paint. I'm going to be painting the Crewcab interior the color of the 01-02 dark gray.

I think the only real trick is to use plastic primer on it instead of regular primer. The downside is that as we all know, plastic trim gets scratched and gouged easy, and the paint goes with it. But any paint will make it look nice as long as it's in good shape.

Make sure you clean everything real well, the bad part is you can't really sand it back off if you mess up.
