injector pump timing

On the gear what happens if you set the timing mark to the C rather than E??? A lot of advance? Hopefully not to much? The other question would be when you take the timing cover off to fix the KDP can you change the pump gear setting then and how hard is it to get the gear off?

You don't have to take the timing cover off to change the gear but it would be easy to do then if you were taking it off for the kdp anyways. You don't normally need to advance it that much anyways especially with stock injectors

On my truck when it was one tooth advanced plus the 1/8" bump up from factory marks the timing was 2.5 mm of lift. Way too high for my application especially when it was cool outside and the KSB was adding more timing. If you turn the pump way down (away from the cylinder head) you can probably get the timing down.

I have pods and tried pushing my pump to the head and I moved it less then 1/8 so it was still very far from the head and it was advanced WAY to far. But every truck is different. With a stock truck, stock timing is fine. I personally wouldn't touch the timing unti you add the pods and play with the fuel screw
