Injector - Pump Gasket Kit Questions
Is every seal/gasket included in the DGK-121 seal kit that could possibly be needed to remove the pump and re-seal it ??
How about the seal that is between the pump and timing-cover, is it included in the kit ??
Also, there are several special-purpose tools noted in the pump removal article in the sticky; are these tools a necessity ??
Thanks.

There's only 1 way fuel can get into the oil and thats through the input shaft seal. There are 2 different sizes for that seal so depending on which kit you get, everything else is the same though.

DGK-121 is the seal kit(s) I intended to get.
Are you meaning that there are two different possible input-shaft seals and it is possible for a 1st Gen. to have a different seal than is in the kit ??
My current engines are 89,90,91, and 91.5; is this seal difference a year-model thing ??
Thanks.

4cyl volkswagons and 4bt's used a smaller input shaft seal. The one for our trucks is the bigger seal in the kit(6cyl VE). The gasket That seals the pump against the timing cover is not in the kit and you do need it.

Does anyone have a current part-number for this gasket; and, is it a Cummins, or a Bosch, part ??
What about this T-BAR puller thingie ??
Is this a job-specific commonly available tool, or something I ain't gonna find here in mudlick ??
Thanks.

I recommend replacing the pump/timing cover gasket if never replaced. Then once it's replaced, if not damaged upon the next pump r&r, no need to replace it. Many have reused their 20 year old gasket with no problems. Its less than 3 bucks from Cummins. The knock off ebay pump seal kits include this gasket, but not the Bosch kit. Probly the best thing about the cheap kit. I've posted the part number on one of these sites, sorry I don't have it right now, give me a day or so, I'll get it from the one sitting in the garage.
If you have a Sears locally, get the t-bar type steering wheel puller they sell, about 20 bucks. I've posted the part number for it as well in the past.
