Question Injector POP Pressure Adjustment Shims?

Does anyone know of a readily available source of the shims for our injectors?

Anybody recognize these Cummins part numbers?

shim# 3905156 1.00mm thick
shim# 3905157 1.04mm thick
shim# 3905158 1.08mm thick
shim# 3905159 1.10mm thick
shim# 3905160 1.14mm thick

All the way to 1.98mm thick.

Would this and that cross-over? Bosch, Delphi, etc?

Can I get some thin brass sheet stock, scissors and a nail and make some?

Discuss . . . ..

I have a few pump jacks here and would love to make a tester and do my own pop set. I wonder if a injection shop would sell you the shims, or if they would act like a spoiled brat and not sell you something that will take away there gravy pop set fee.

I found a decent, relatively inexpensive one on Ebay with a 150mm, 0 ~ 400BAR gauge.

Yeah, I've become somewhat well acquainted with the guys at a local Injection shop ("You're the guy running the Dodge diesel at Dunn-Benson ain't ya?" ). I'm hoping they will work with me on shims if needed. They've already offered to help me with secret-squirrel stuff on the IP when I get to that.

you can buy them from most diesel fuel shops, but i never did find any good prices on them, when i tried to a set, they were anywhere from $1-$4 each, and when they gave me a price for a set i wanted at over $300, i turned and walked out, i started buying used/junk injectors for almost nothing, and and now have plenty of spare parts too...

That looks like a price quote for a single injector.

If they are the same as 12V shims, I have quite a few sorted by size into ziploc bags. maybe 30 or so different sizes. If you are looking to just reset the pressures on a set of injectors I can send them to you and you can take what you need and give me back what you take out. Just don't get them all mixed up.

Thanks RonA, that sounds like a swinging deal!
Mine are 8.5mm/.334" in diameter w/3mm/.118" hole.

I'm set up pretty good right now. I'm wanting to get 30 or 40 and hang out my "Pop Testing" shingle.

I'm making some shims out of some injector nozzles I got ripped off on a few years back... sold me some junked out 7 hole stockers that were supposedly 120hp BD pieces.
Anyway they're turning out pretty good as shims.
