Injector hole size vs injector pricing

I'm not going to target a particular seller of injectors here but...

Say you have 4 imaginary choices of injector from a business

5x12.. "X"
5x14.. X + $50.00
5x16.. X + $100.00
5x18.. X + $200.00

Why would the 5 x 18's cost the most? Why would they all not cost the same amount? Do the nozzle types change as you get bigger?

Just curious here. I know this has been going on for years but it seems kind of wrong to charge more for an injector that is almost exactly the same as another except for hole size.

When I was a younger fella and shopping for the girlfriend, I often wondered why tiny bikinis cost more than many one piece swim suits. What's up with that?

. . . . I got nothing.

Perhaps it's because they're a custom size as compared to a stock orifice size (OEM/mfg)? Dunno.

It seems that the "better" options always cost more.

That's the cost of engineering for you. Got to make a tiny bit of fabric cover everything you need to and keep it all in line with minimal support.....

I'm pretty sure it's just because they can and people will pay it. Can't see how it really costs them all that much more once they get the design figured out.

I suspect it takes longer to get the holes bigger. Maybe more steps.

I'd say the enginering has somthin to do with it, but you know people will tend to buy buy the "better" ones lol. Its kinda like having a cell phone, say you were to talk on the phone for 30min and then fit that whole conversation into text messages, (providing theres no un-limited text on your plan) the texting is probably gona cost you a lot more... But it does'nt cost the cell phone company more. I think its one of those things where they get ya for the extra $. Just a thought tho, there might be more work to making bigger holes than i think lol.

Kind of like how people from jersey don't know how to put gas into their vehicles.
