injection pump leak

injection pump leak
my injection pump on my 91 is leaking.
the source of the leak is under a little rubber piece that has a small drainage tube.
the piece is located on the side of the pump that faces the driver.
I have no idea what this is for, maybe to vent excess fuel pressure, but the leak is a constant drip at iddle.
how bad is this?
how do I fix it?

That's the AFC vent. A leak there means that fuel is getting into the AFC housing. The little o-ring that seals the fuel pin is leaking. Time to tear the top off the pump, a Bosch pump shop can set you up with the part. Install a 3200 RPM spring while you're in there.

so how exactly do I get the little fuel pin out to replace the gasket.
I think In either have to drive out the steel pin that that holds the top part of the gov assembly, or unscrew the threaded insert that the fuel pin goes into.
I tried hitting the steel pin with a punch, but I am hesitant to apply much force, if is is not intended to be removed.
thanks for your help guys

On top of the pump u will see four flat head screws. But first remove the 12mm bandjo bolt that holds on the boost line. Becareful not drop the brass washers then remove the four screws and the afc top will come off. U will see the top of the diaphragm look for the puch mark in the top put it back in that order. Pull it out the pin is hooked to it and the spring ill stay with the pump the small washer will be stuck to the pin or over the hole replace it. And check the diaphargm for pin holes. Good luck When puting back the fuel pin make sure the small delivery pin is push all the way in so u don't break it.
