Inj. pump questions

Can the smoke screw be ran in to far? I got to looking at my pump today to do the turn ups and someone had already bottomed it out where its flush with the nut. I ran the fuel screw all the way in and it never offered to run away, just had idle to high to adjust out so I backed it up 1/2 turn, turned fuel pin and bumped timing 1/8 inch or so. I'm still not sure if all this helped a whole lot though, this is a 92 with 18 cm/2 housing, stock injectors, swiss cheese air box, magna flow 3" muffler and all I'm getting on boost is around 23 @ wot with auto in od. Still waiting on pyro to get here so I can't tell temps yet. I'm wondering how loose my torque converter is? It was replaced just before I bought the truck along with a reman trans less than 20K ago by Quic transmissions in Albuquerque, Nm. and bill says it has a hd converter and hd planetary kit in it. Any idea if this might be hurting me? I pull an 8 1/2 x 22 enclosed racecar trailer that with the car and junk inside only weights 6000-7000 lbs. I know it catches alot of air but it just seems like the truck should pull it way better than it does. Any ideas? Thanks ahead of time, Terry.

I wouldnt worry about running the smoke screw in too far, the fuel pin has a lot of travel and the smoke screw wont be long enough to bottom it out.

Would an hx35 or whc1 help out enough to be worth the trouble?

The smoke screw will not cause run away, I think you mean the full power screw. Some pumps do not respond as well to turning up as others do for some unknown reason. Increasing my timing caused me to lose low end grunt and that is what you need to tow. Advanced timing will help power at high RPMs but I have found near stock works better for me pulling my trailer. Get you some better injectors, a 16 cm/2 turbo housing and it will wake up the beast for towing.

Get a HTT compressor upgrade stage III or IV and a 16cm/2 housing if you want a good setup.

Hi, no was talking about the smoke screw, was just afraid it would lock up the fuel pin being ran in that far, What about an h1e center and compressor with my h1c exhaust wheel and housing? Seeing alot of the h1e's cheap and they are suppose to be the older version of an hx40.

I don't know anything about those turbos but maybe someone who does will chime in here. I just know I am very happy with the HTT stage III upgrade.
