I think I found a truck...finally
After a lot of pulled hair and headaches, I think I found my truck. Its a 1992 w250, 5sp with 89k on it. Is there any way to get rear end ratio info from the vin number? I saw the truck at the dealership after dark and didnt have a light to see any specs. Here is the vin if it helps.

with a 5sp its either 3.54 gears or 4.10 gears. But more than likely its 3.54 gears I think the only ones with 4.10 gears are the 1-ton dually's. I'm sure there are exceptions this is just what I have noticed.

Usually there is a tag under one of the differential bolts (Unless it's been removed) that will state the ratio....
apwatson50,
I agree it's probably a 3.54, but it could be a 4.10 my son's '90 came with that ratio. He wants to change it too

JUNK...Plain JUNK, and the salesman was an a-hole too. I called before driving down, and the guy said, truck is in great shape, yada, yada, yada. i got down there and it was being test driven. when the guy pulled in, the entire pass bed side was rotted out of it. he didnt talk just handed me the keys. I drove out of town, and wasnt at all impressed with this truck. Im guessing the turbo didnt look too healthy, and the truck had absolutley nothing on the bottom end.
I looked all around it, found a cracked cowl, and so much slop and mud under it. plus a undercoated frame and diffs
I returned to the dealer, and said plain out that 8,000 was way too much for this truck, and named the problems. he interupted me and said I know what problems it has. I said than why didnt your dealership, a Dodge dealer fix them. I also pointed out the cracked cowl that he didnt know about. a truck with absolutly no options, no a/c, no carpet, etc that was used on the farm. 1 bedside, 1 fixed cowl, and who knows what with the engine....
Thats what im talking about, if your gonna charge a premium price...sell a premium truck, and dont decieve customers with only 1 picture, and then lying when they ask more about the truck.
Here is the link from autotrader. Buyer Beware.

You didn't buy it, did you? I sure hope not! I remember someone on this site a few weeks ago talking about this same truck! I even recall the picture! Always, always ask to see more info. And, rather than driving a great distance to check it out, always have a friend closeby(if possible) come check it out for you first before you get serious about it. Where do you live csramsey? I just might have the truck for you if you aren't too far away. I WON'T deceive you, and I'll send you plenty of pics over email if you're interested. pm me if you are.

The truck was south of Greensburg PA, and I only wish I did know someone down that way, but i didnt. If he would have told the truth, I would have been satisfied, and I told him that he was very misleading on the phone. He called me as a follow up yesterday, and I told him that was a 4,000 truck. Not an 8,000 truck that needed 2,000 more in work. Oh yeah plus it had 4 worn out recaps on it.
