I Finnaly took time to pull my clutch. I got the new South Bend Clutch
out of the Box and Im dissapointed. The Pressure Plate Is the Exact same thing as the Carquest Gold that i was running that wont hold. They Both say LUK on them and have the same numbers. I was under the impression the SBC builds their own stuff But that looks to not be true. Now the Disk is a different story. The Old is exactly 11 inches, The new Button Disk is 10 7/8.

Now this is weird, The old disk is only useing the outer 3/4 of the disk on the flywheel side, No wonder its slipping. The inner 1/4 still looks brand new. I put a straight edge on the flywheel and its true but the PP shows to be not true to the inside Thus explaining why its only running the outer 3/4.

So I dont really know what to do. Im thinking I need to have the flywheel redrilled for a bigger clutch.

Advice anyone?

If you haven't called Peter at SBC do it first chance you get. He will have an answer for you!!. Look at my sig. I am running 353.7 RWHP with SBC's Con-O and Old Smoky is too - at over 446 RWHP. This clutch is good to 400 HP. It is by far the best clutch I've ever had in my '93. BTW my pressure plate is a LUK also.
