I need a 3.07 geared dually rearend!
I boughtg this truck a couple months ago I got everything dialed in and runniong good finally! So I jump in and head down the highway and as fast as it will go is 58mph at redline,so I pull over look at the tag on the rear axle and it has a 4.10 rear end in it! It is 4x4 and the front has the stock 3.07's so now I am looking for a 3.07 rear.If anyne knows where to find one please let me know. I am in nor-cal so the closer the better! Thanks

Shouldn't be too hard to find at all.
I see more dually rears then SRW rears.
Check the classifieds here and www.1stgen.org ....

Whatever you do don't run it in 4wheel drive. It will create a torque bind that will tear either the transfer case or a differential out. Good luck on your ole truck.

Its not going to be easy to get a 3.07 rear. Few and far between. Also there are 2 different width axles for the dual wheeled trucks. Cab and chassis is narrower then the pick up model.

since it doesnt have pickup box, i would go with whatever i found first. a chassis cab 3.07 is gonna be pretty difficult to find i would imagine. a pickup rear is gonna be alot easier.

3.07 stuff is getting VERY difficult to find. If the rear axle was NOT a 3.07 originally (meaning, if they swapped the whole axle, and not just the gears) and with a 4:10 tag present, that would be my guess, you cannot put 3.07 gears in it. I think you would be better off just installing new gears front and rear, like 3.54s.
just My 2 cents.

Yes I want a whole axle I don't care what it came out of as long as it has the right gears! I don't want to regear the whole truck,I only tow my wheeling rig twice a month with this thing.

even with 3.54 gears, it wont do the speed limit on the highway. if all you can find is srw stuff, you may have to run dually adapters. the rear axle is out there, but it will take some time to find it. dont give up.

This fellow has a front and rear end with 3.07's but it was from a 3/4 ton, so you'd have to do a dually adapter. hopefully the admin's won't delete the link. All the way in PA though...

that is a great deal.. the C and C will be narrower as someone has stated earlier... not by much though. And you CAN put 3.07 R&P in a 410 or 354 axle, with a spacer but not the other way around.. The 3.07 pumpkin is smaller and won't fit the larger ring gear.

thats a helluva deal. do it. immediately, if not sooner.
and it wouldnt be a bad idea to go through it before you put it in. give this axle whatever it needs, bearings, seals, shims, dont skimp. keep it alive so you dont have to find another.
