Ok i was rewiring od with a switch , had that done (Had`nt tested yet but done) I wanted a light to remind me it was in overdrive. used a test light and picked up 12 v from back of fuse box ,On far right dark blue wire going to stake on,some one had a clio on on it ahs it had been used before
there was no problem using test light ,light on switch worked and everything, when i went to put the wire on the switch (didn`t eaven get it on ) it killed the motoe melted rubber coating on wire .
Now truck wont start all gages work except battery, fan works ,head lights work, starter doesn`t eaven try.

iVE CHECKED ALL FUSES, MY THOUGHT IS HEAD LIGHT SWITCH CARRIES EVERYTHING TO IGNITION AND EVERYTHING ELSE , IT HAS A BUILT IN BREAKER.
MY GUESS IS THAT IS WHAT WENT.
Any ideas would be apreciated!!!!!!!!!
OH yea i checked the plug to the cumputer and no bern marks or sighns of heat.

There are fusible links that are inside the wiring harness under the left hood hinge. I would guess you burned one of these up. Just get an inline fuses and replace as much of that part of the harness as you can.
