Cool I got a second gen flex plate but...

Its the same thickness as the one i took out. .095" Both measure the same. Just curiuos why. I ordered it through cummins using the Number in the sticky and also crossing it to a 98 cummins engine #. Are they using better steel or should it be thicker?

Tron,

The 2nd Gen. flex plates are a better steel and have been treated, thus the increased strength.

Aloha,
Matt

so the 2nd gen flexplates bolt right up? direct replacement? i guess the 92 with the 518 [i guess] is the same tranny as the 727 with a od on the end. in other words are the flexplates the same between the 727 and 518 and 2nd gen?
