HX35, should I upgrade?
Ive got an hx35. Going to put it in as soon as i get my intake horn/crossover built. Ill keep it stock compressor/wheel for now. But is the hx35 htt stage 3, which is the 35/40 hyrbid, worth the money? The htt site claims 400 hp, same as claimed for h1c stage 4.

The Stage III HX35 the same wheel as the H1C Stage IV and honestly, it's not going to make 400hp on a 1st gen without drugs and/or ported head, cam, etc.. Over 300hp will be difficult without high EGT's.
IMO the HX35 isn't worth upgrading. It has a 56mm/83mm compressor and MWE, so it shouldn't have a surging problem and it's fairly efficient to around 35psi. The gains of the slightly bigger wheel will, in my opinion, not outweigh the cost. If it were me, I'd save the money and put it toward a bigger turbo down the road.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds good to me. What does it take to take on an hx40 efficiently? Ive already got the hx35, which i picked up for a great deal. I plan on running this until I get the mods to go even bigger. Is an hx40 or something like a s400 better when I get to that point?
