hvac drain
since i fixed the ac in my truck all the condensation has been running out on the floor (every time i turn left cold water on the wifes feet lol) I looked at the sticky and cut the hole and cleaned the box out (got lots of stuff out) but still I have water comming out in the floor board. where is the condensation drain located at.

you'll find the drain below the blower motor on the firewall, passenger side. it sounds like you know already that it's probably plugged with some junk. a cleaning should fix the problem. at least it's cold water and not scalding hot from the heater core

Forward of the firewall and slightly inboard of the wheel well cover, you will see a short black tube that sticks about 1" forward of the firewall. That is your drain tube. Go to Low's or Home Depote and get you about 14" of clear vinyl tubing and a small worm clamp. I can'r remember the size of the tube, it's either 1/2" or 5/8" dia. The reason being, if your truck now sits level, instead of slightly nose down, water tenson will cause the droplets to run out the tube, then down the vertical end surface and back into the cab. It worked for me. No more wet carpet ! Hardest part was holding the little flash light in my mouth so I could see to tighten the clamp.

As Jimbo stated you'll need to clear out the drain. Spiders and other creepy crawly creatures will build nests and lay egg sacks in that little rubber tube. Jam a small screw driver, or piece of coat hanger up there and clear the blockage. If it doesn't come clear then you might have to pop the rubber drain tube off and flush and clear the debris that way.

or the other option would be to cut the HVAC box open from inside the cab on the passenger side and clean it out. a lot of leaves and junk can typically be found accumulated in front of the evaporator.

hey-Hey!!!,
Thanks y'all for the perfect timing. I just noticed the carpet on the passenger side was wet. Reached to the drain tube and gave it a roll between my fingers and allowed a good bit of water to drain out. Not that this absolves me of the responsibility to cut open the duct and clean out the crud, I just don't have to do it *NOW*.
cheers,
Douglas
