Hurst Pistol grip

Jus finished watching SPIKE TV with Stacey David; he was wrenching on a 2nd gen gasser and as usual doing all kinds of mods. BUT the most interesting mod was the installation of the Hurst pistol grip shifter.

This reduced the length of the throw in the shifts. It was for an NV4500, does anyone know if this would work for a getrag????? He had to modify the angle of the shifter at the bottom by cutting and rewelding.

I thought it was interesting.

You could put any shifter **** you wanted on the shift lever, there are adapter sleeves out there to adapt any standard shift **** to the M10 x 1.5 threads on the lever. If you want a shorter throw you gotta shorten the lever, though.

I had a Hurst T-Handle shifter on my FJ60s 4sp...love it! I wanted a pistol grip but at the time hurst wanst selling pistol grip handles, only t-handles...then as soon as I stop driving my FJ60 and start driving my auto 1st gen, I walk into O'Rileys and find the pistol grip handles >:-I
But I love my t-handle...no matter how much mud I had on my hands I could never lose grip. If I ever get another vehicle with a manual thatll be my first modification =D

I've had a Hurst T-Handle shifter **** on my truck for years. It was awkward at first, but now I like it.

I have a B&M t-handle shiter on mine now. I was thinking about angle drilling the at end and making my own pistol grip, which I prefer, but truth is I'm digging the t-handle right now.
