How would you know if you have a boost leak?

Cruising around my truck doesnt seem to make boost but when I lay into the throttle heavily it makes about 35#

Your truck shouldn't make any boost just cruising around.

List your mods, and we can tell you if we suspect a boost leak. 35psi of boost is pushing your luck with a stock headgasket.

It's a 93 dually with a getrag, previous owner told me the pump has been played with and it has 2nd gen turbo on it.

35psi sounds kind of high for an intercooled truck with just pump tuning. I would say you definitely don't have a boost leak.

I forgot to add that it has no muffler and it appears to be 3" pipe.

Boost is directly related to engine load hence light load = low boost

Well then, my 93 has 42 pounds of boost, guess I will be walking soon.
