I like you Dar, you're a funny, funny man. Anyway, don't you have your hands full with truck you have? Every time I see a picture of it you've done something else to it.

So what do you guys carry in your Death Wobble Survival Kit besides a trash bag for your seat and a change of underwear?

Can you feel it coming on like a twitch or vibration from the road in the steering wheel, or does it just suddenly hit you with no warning?

Here is what Death Wobble looks like. No this is not my truck.

That video doesn't quite convey the actual terror of being in the drivers seat. Mine would get progressively worse until it seemed like the truck was going to come apart. It wouldn't stop until you were nearly at a complete stop, It felt like I would lose complete control. Overall a not very pleasant experience and sure makes the cost of repair seem worth it...Mark P.S. Is the wobble unique to the 4x4's? Do the 2x4's do this? I wonder if it's the king pins that are the culprit. In my case the repair of the KP's seems to have solved the problem.

Some Ford owners have this problem also. I think it is a straight front axle problem.

HOLY SMOKE!!! That front end looks as if it's going to self destruct. I've definitely not experienced that.

My 96 F350 had this issue. It came about after I switched from a set of 305's to my old set of 265's. A steering stabilizer fixed mine

As stated above, that video does no justice for the seat of the pants feel. I can't believe that guy drove for as long as he did. WOW

It is a straight axle problem, Ford, chev, dodge all get it. It can be simple as not enough positive caster or worn components. It is not a pleasant experience!

Is it as broad as just straight axle? or can it be narrowed to d60 straight axle? I have read/heard of countless d60 death wobble tales, kingpin and ball joint alike. I have never heard of a d44 death wobble though.

I remember that the older ford 2wds had twin I beam straight axles, IIRC, Did they do this also? Or was is it just the 2wds?. I had 2wd fords that never wobbled me, but that doesn't really mean anything....Mark

Bought my 93' 6 months ago or so, here's the list I'll try not to leave anything out
1. Valve cover gasket
2. Rear main seal
3.PCM
4.speed sensor
5. Injector pump
6.powersteering box
7. rebuild vacum pump
8. Tie rod ends
9. Radiator
10.shocks
I think there's light at the end of the tunnel, trans seems ok, rear brakes are next. Truck runs good, hardly drive the 07

Couple of pricey items there babyray. I would hope the light is there for you as well. How many miles on the truck? Mostly curious about how long that rear main seal lasted and how many miles on the injector pump before you determined it needed replacing.

babyray55,
How much money you think you've spent on your rig in the last 6 months?

Ran fine till the day the pump died,280,000, the rebuilt PCM had maybe a thousand on it when the pump quit. Started fine but choked out when adding fuel then just wouldn't run. Hoping it was the lift pump but couldn't be that lucky. Ended up sending the pump to Fresno to rebuild the tricked out pump, it will break the tires on dry asphalt. Did the rear seal right away when first purchased . If the truck didn't run so good I probably would have sold it. Now I'm past the point of no return. A few more things and I'll be there.
