I have run 250,000 miles without one; however, I would like to add a 3200 spring and a M&H fuel pin. Do I need to install one?

yup, you would be surprised how a little extra fuel will suck your lift pump down. Even more so if you have turned up the pump, and its a good maintenance tool to see when your fuel filter is plugging off.

Most important gauge is the pyro gauge cause more fuel equals higher EGTs. better turbo and exhaust and intake evens that out. I have a pin, pump tweaked, 4" turbo back. you can get a diamond eye exhaust which i have for $280. i just ordered a FASS platinum lift pump so when i get injectors and a turbo ill be able support the fuel needs. I got a kit for pyro, boost, trans temp cause I have an auto, and fuel pressure for $650 with pods from isspro. Mine are all electronic so no boost tube really easy to install . Some guy was telling me that you can help MPGs by watching how it moves. I don't know the specifics yet. But isspro is def one of the best if not the best. I would check out the classifieds and Craigslist people are always selling gauges.

Idk if this is true about first gens but in my buddies 24v his fuel pressure was goin down and he thought his pump was done but he changed the fuel filter and it went back up so gauges warm you before something bad happens

A fuel gauge is important enough to warrant buying one.

Had I done things over when I first got my old dodge, I'd probably still be driving it because I would have invested in a trans temp gauge too. If I had one I'd have known I was cooking my trans before it was toasted. The short of the story is this: gauges save you money in the long run, and in the case of a fuel gauge, it can help you diagnose issues when the truck isn't running right.

That's exactly the point I was making too. Only a transmission is a bit more expensive!

At this point, if I was doing things over, I'd rather lose the trans because then it'd be an excuse to build it properly.

An IP... not so much. that's money gone in the wind.

Yeah, broke the bolts holding the head and and pushed it out warping the case making it no good for a core.

Installed a fp gauge with the new pump and i was making a whole 6psi at idle. No wonder it spit parts at the end of a 100 mile pull with about 22,000 lbs.


Ive busted a nv4500 too. That was also expensive!

Besides gauges being so important, they just look so cool when lit up at night with LED's.

Climb into a class-8 tractor and you will find a dash filled with gauges that will pretty much tell something about everything.

My 1970 Mustang I used to race had 10 Stewart Warner gauges in the dash and console and the fuel pressure gauge was mounted on the cowl using a marine pod, I could monitor everything from the diff temp to the fuel/ air ratio.

If insturments wern't so important they would only have idiot lights in commerical aircraft and they would be much easier to fly.

After placing my order, I realized that it was listed as an optional accessory.

I run a 3n1 too but mine is boost full face and egt, fuel pressure in digital. Mine did NOT come with a snubber so my guess is you will need to buy one seperatly.

The snubber is not required but it will save your sensor in the long run. It also tames down the pressure fluctuations so you can read it better, highly recommended.

Alright you got me talked into the fuel gauge.

I have added ISSPro fuel pressure 0-30 PSi to my cart

Also Autometer Z Series Pyro and a Trans temp

I will mount the Autometers on the A pillar and the ISSpro in the dash.

I picked the most cost productive they has, did I pick appropriately?

I mounted my fp gauge on the column. Easier to see when you look down at the rest of the dash.

Actually, maybe the Glow shift is the way to go. So I need the snubber, what else do I need with this gauge?
