how do you like you non intercooled CTD
I'm going to be going to pickup a 91 CTD 4x4 727 with just under 200K. It's not intercooled. I wanted to find an intercooled model but I cant pass up the price on this one. It looks like its pretty well cared for and I've already got him down to 1,500. What's it like trying to get a little extra power out of these. I know the heads are differant. I've read about puttinga PS intercooler in and I've already found one. What should I know about this motor.
Thanks, JJ

I've heard they are real good, easier to get a little more pwr being they come stock with bigger injectors than the I/C models... For 1500 bones, sounds like a steal.. Just get some guages first then start adding the fuel. A p/s intercooler would be a great addition..

i like mine, with a tuned pump and 60 comp wheel i can pull several lengths ahead of my dads 01 with an edge ez. both manuels, his 3.53, my 4.10s.. They will get toast very quickly. needs an intercooler or water.

I was gonna let my wife drive mine all the time too.... untill I got it done!!!
The 60 should hold up good, they are pretty strong axles.. Never had a problem with mine running 44" boggers..

Not only do you get big injectors in the non i/c trucks but I SWEAR 727's have tighter converters then the 91.5-93 A-518's..
You'll love the truck even more once/if you add an intercooler, cuz then you can do more tweaking., dont forget you could always add a factory i/c setup from a 91.5-93. you have a 91 with the newer grille so it can be done.
stock non i/c injectors are good for up to 350HP+ they just need air/exhuast to do it.

i'm interested in hearing more. i have a non I/C'd that now has an I/C in it. my 4" exhaust will have to wait til next weekend and my intake will follow soon. i only have the pump tweaked about 3/4 of a turn though. i wonder how it would perform with a denny t stage 2??? i bet it would spin the duals

I Don't know if I can put a measurement on fun but the fun does last longer
Before the I/C I could bury the pyro in the blink of an eye, now the egt rize a lot slower and sort of level off at 1400 but do creep up slowly after that, this is all with my winter tune, we'll see what happens when I put the big sticks back in and fart with the pump again
Improvments were a 200ish degree drop at wot, 100* at cruiseing speed and 50* at idle
If your truck is originally a N/IC truck I've heard that a 2nd gen cooler fits a little better than the PS cooler, The PS ooler fits btter in a I/C'd truck
I got my 24v horn from a guy on this forum named Papecat, he also bought my old crossover that rbrettctd made
Within the nextfew weeks I'm gonna try to wedge a 2nd gen cooler behind my Old style grille
