Hello Lucas.

Diesel Engines are very efficient. Unless you're blowing black smoke, you're probably turning all the fuel into power.

You don't mention how lifted your truck is, if you've got a 100 gallon xfer tank/toolbox (weight of truck) or 40" super swampers.

I have seen all sorts of mileage differences with my trucks. from a stock tire 2x4 d250 with 3.07 and getrag (best was 25 mpg) to my 1972 power wagon crew cab on 37" military tires... I have seen a lot of fluctuation with virtually the same 'mods' to the motor.

That said, if you had your truck setup with a different motor all in all you'd still be getting better mileage with the cummins.

You mention you are looking for 22.5" big rig wheels/tires. Your best bet for mileage is to have pizza cutters like 255/85R16 or stock size tires and stock ride height.

Your torque converter could be smoked and causing the engine to scream at high rpm's on the highway.

Is overdrive working>

You fail to mention where you're located, winter blend fuel makes a diff.

Miles per tank is no way to tell if your getting crappy mileage, Unless you are dividing it into the gallons put back in. I only get about 300 to 400 tops, but my fuel guage is whacked. with my settings I get about 17, 18-19 summer on the hwy.

16 city, 20 country, 18 @70 - 75 on the highway.

Constant light haze when accelerating and at speed on the highway. I dunno how it does so well.
