"Honey you need to get one of those cool old trucks..."
My AWESOME wife suggested I buy a First Gen...several times. So, I did! I believe I rescued this one. I needed work, like most. Especially since it was a Mid-west truck. I am late posting this. I have had it for a few weeks.
So far I have:
- Replaced rear main seals
- Adjusted brakes
- Bled brakes
- Replaced front calipers
- Reduced the idle speed (P.O. had turned up pump a little)
- Replaced the headlight switch (Thanks for the sticky!!!)
- BHAF intake
- 4 in Diamond Eye turbo back exhaust
I am blessed with help. I have a brother-in-law that has been working on Dodge diesels for years and can do body work. My wife was the head painter at a body shop for a few years. The only thing holding me back from an amazing restored First Gen is, of course, money. But over the next year or two I think I can knock most of it out.
Oh yeah, it is a 1993, LE, 4x4, 5 speed.

I scored this at a salvage yard the other day! Brand new and never been on a truck! I only wish I had gotten there before he sold the grille that was still wrapped in plastic. He bought them both several years ago for a guy that was going to fix up a First Gen. The guy never came back and got them.

Let me get this straight...
A wife who bugs you to go out and buy an old truck to fix up ? Yeah Right ! There are no women like that in this world. Nope
Well, that's almost as believable as this....

You guys are funny as heck! I have been reading the First Gen forum since I got the truck. Seems like a great group of folks with a ton of knowledge!
NJTman, it looks like you have set the bar for my truck. Nice job! I promise my wife really does exist...and yes I am lucky! But how did you get the video of my mother-in-law going for a walk in the woods?
