Help - Trouble reassembling Injection Pump
Hey, I've been using the sticky thread on re-sealing my IP, and it has been awesome (thanks 1stgen545!).
However, I can't get my Injection Head back into the pump for the life of me without those two tiny springs or some other part falling out. Is there a trick to this? In the sticky pictures it looks like the springs aren't falling out of 545's IP head when he has it upside down.
I've tried it with the pump facing up, lying flat, etc. The lever with the ball that the slide collar goes over is still installed. I don't want to use grease or anything to make it stick.
I almost had it last night then the pump tipped over and my rollers fell out and got all mixed up. Arrrggghh. I didn't lose the parts but now the rollers and washers probably aren't matched.
The good news is the inside of the pump doesn't look too worn. But I need advice before I ruin the pump trying to reseal it. Thanks everyone.

Stand the case up so you can set the rotor onto the crank.
A hole in the table works to let the crank fall down.
Stand the springs in place on their plate, grease the valves into the head then ease the head asembly over the rotor, onto the springs.
It usually takes me 2 or 3 tries.
Axle bearing grease, or even engine assembly grease, won't hurt a thing.
Mark.
