Help! Bushings didn't work
I went out today to a dealer that had these bushings in-stock and replaced it. SO I started up the truck and went to shift into 2nd and it wouldn't let me I noticed though the truck kinda rocked when I tried shifting into gear. The hydraulics work as I had my sla... ahem brother step on the clutch as I took a trip down under. The slave cylinder worked but the boot only opened up about 3/4 to its full length.
SO what is it?
I need this truck in a couple a days. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

Ok, After all my whining, I hafta say that I found the problem. There is a support that comes out of the firewall to hold up the clutch and brake pedals and to that the clutch master cylinder is bolted to it. Well I look up there to see if something that I did when I replaced the bushing messed anything up. I push the clutch pedal only to see the whole support bracket move! Upon further investigation the support was CUT right next to the hydraulic support bracket. It was only a matter of time before something like this happened. So I welded it up as best as I could while it was underneath the dash. Nothing caught fire save my jean jacket.

Well the cut support bracket wasn't it. I put it all together just now and it still wont shift into gear with the engine running. I am at wits end here. The hydraulics are working but I need like inch in travel in the pedal to actuate the clutch saftey switch but I hit the floor before then. Whats up? I am getting mad, mad enough to go look for a gasser. I know this isn't diesel related but I need a reliable vehicle and the only ones for sale here are gassers. Is there a way to turn this into a auto cheaply or make the linkage mechanical? Any input is greatly appreciated!
Oh and I lost the clip to hold on the push rod to the pedal!

I don't have any answers for you DJ, but try to be patient.
Let the other members get home from work and I'm sure those with a manual with post what they know.
BTW, if you're like me, it'll be something stupid so go ahead and find an old engine block to throw around.
