HELP Brake lights and Turn Signal are out

Hey, Just picked up my 1993 Dodge W250 and the tailights were working fine and then today they went out. The running lights will work but when I hit the brakes the bulbs dont illuminate. Turn signals dont work either. The turn signals dont illuminate on my gauges also. So Im wondering if there is some sort of Relay that controls both the turn signals and brake lights. Any help would be appreciated so I can get the BEAST back on the road again.

Thanks
Madison

1 relay for the turn signal,on your fuse box under the dash, its probably either burned it up or popped both fuses, make sure you replace the fuses with proper amp and good brand.

it could also be your multifunction switch or "turn signal switch" your brake lights and dash lights run through it.

Cycle your hazard switch a few times and see if the lights work.Or if the hazard switch is operational. A stuck one will cause your problem also.

Does anyone have a diagram of the fuse box showing which relay controls what? I have the same problem with no turn signals or tail lights and need to get my truck functional before I start to mod it. Thanks guys!

These "relays" are actually round flasher units with 2 terminals. Your fusebox should have 2 of them: one for turn signals and one for hazards. They may or may not be a problem. Check your fuses first. I should mention that 70% of wiring problems are caused by stuff that people have added or modified. Factory splices and connections are usually routed and sealed much better. So get behind the rear bumper and check out any trailer wiring that's not factory. It's usually a big rat's nest.

Good advice, thanks.

Question: What color is the factory brake, tail, and turn signal wiring (respectively)? I know there is some aftermarket wiring going on in this truck and I need to begin by isolating the dodge stuff from the previous owner stuff. Probably does not help that a rat ate some wiring under the hood (any idea what these chewed up wires and relays are for?)

Looks like he ate some of your fusible links. Once you get that squared away things should work again.
