Headlight switch

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the headlight switch? I am thinking about doing away with it and just putting in toggles for its functions. Has anyone done this can it be done without too much trouble?

I would keep the stock switch and use relays on the headlights, and marker light circuit if you have enough to warrant it.

Thumbs up

I agree on the relays. Higher voltage and current to the lights, you get to keep the stock switch, and the switch won't get hot from all the current going through it.

I was going to do relays and toggles but it might be more work than it is worth.

It would be easier to relay it, just use the original headlamp sockets to trigger the relays and build a new mini harness for the lamps.

My headlight switch burned out so badly that it melted the block terminal that plugs into it, so I've had to do as you suggest. toggle switches and relays. If your switch is still OK then I'd recommend along with the other posters to install relays to carry the main current and use the original headlight wires just to trigger the relays.
