Hey bro, howzit going? As you can see, I've been busy. That's really what this jobsite is lacking--a good supervisor! You got a white hardhat? You're out in a few days, eh? I'll put you on payroll. If you show for an entire week, your salary doubles...twice nothing has to be something, right?

Looking good! I have the utmost respect for folks who can do that kind of stuff, I can do anything with a wrench or screwdriver but ask me to cut/frame wood.....it`s not a pretty sight.

Lookin good, hope it becomes the home you've always wanted. And now that you will have a supervisor you'll get it done even faster
Just remember JR, you are just the supervisor, not a laborer.... we need you to get better so you can bomb a new ctd and impress us more
Let us know if you run into something, I'm sure we could answer some questions if the need arises.

Yup. Had to use 'em to meet the energy code. Can't build with 2x4's anymore unless you're using a renewable resource for heat....I will be heating with wood, but wanted the buffer for possible changes down the road.

Might as well dredge this one up..
I've been chugging along on my little cabin. I WILL live in it by t-giving of this year, but it won't likely be 'finished' for another year or two. We'll be sinking a ton of $$ into well/septic in the next couple months. I'm doing windows+doors over the next few weeks. Some update shots:
Walls done:
Trusses coming up:
This was actually easier than I thought. Myself, my sister, my MIL and a good buddy set all the trusses by hand in about 3 hours:
No pics of the roof underlayment--I was busy trying to beat the rain! I struggled with that 30X50 tarp for weeks while doing the shingles. Underlayment was 3/4'' T+G OSB. I pulled every piece up by hand with a strap
Ahh, shingles:
G1625S HATES heights!

Impromptu meeting of the minds---Free89w350 and Cowboy_Customs stopped up with their little ones to check on progress:
Oh, here's the OSB going up:
Built me a little deck:
Inside coming together:
View from the top---shoulda built a 2-story
It'll be nice to have a meet+eat up there. Plenty of test and tune roads and lots of privacy. Could prolly pack 15 1st gens in the front yard
