H1C turbo size ID?

Thanks for the great info, Wanna! I think you mentioned this to me before but I couldn't remember for sure and couldn't find the thread. Okay, I'm working on it.....Thanks guys.

So would swapping the H1C to an HY35 be a cut and paste or would I need more parts? Fairly easy? I now have 3" exhaust & downpipe [cool 'cause that's equal to 4.5" on a 6BT!] and a smallish intake pipe about 1.98 OD.

You will need a different style connection to the downpipe. The HY-35's on Dodges use a ball and socket joint instead of the V-band like you have now. Also the outlet points down at a 45 degree angle on a Dodge, on your manifold that will cause it to angle somewhat towards the engine. If you can scare up a V-band style backplate that will solve the whole mess.

Is this 45 degree angle pointed down and rearward toward firewall? I had some clearance problems with stock 4BT downpipe and had to cut out big chunks of firewall. Maybe the HY35 would give back some clearance? I'll go look for pics....

Yes, on a Dodge. Our manifolds up though '02 point to the side at a 45 degree angle. Your manifiold points straight down, as does a 3rd gen Dodge manifold. This will cause the outlet on the HY to point towards your engine. The stock turbo off an '03 or '04 truck would fit your engine better. Later models have an electronic wastgate so you don't want an '05 or newer unit.
